I did it! As promised, I’ve posted a new holiday recipe on my blog. I can’t tell you how I feel, mainly because there’s no word for the combination of excited, nauseated, relieved, apprehensive, and exhausted that is coursing through my nervous system.
It’s been almost two and a half years, and I’ve forgotten almost everything I knew about Wordpress, Canon cameras, zesting lemons, and how long this process actually takes.
But it’s done! With 4 days to spare! Now I can do my Christmas shopping, put up our tree, and clean my house. (Don’t hold your breath on that last one.)
Oh, you want the recipe? Of course. It’s a really good one.
So without further ado, I give you…
Just click the link above to be transported to my blog. Or wait! And see these behind the scenes photos of Foxley trying to score himself some cake.
Foxley is not shy when it comes to cake and cameras. He’s always posing and hoping his photogenic smile will earn him a treat. (Salem was under the table but slinked (slunk?) away when my phone came out. He thinks being photographed is a punishment.) That’s too many parentheses, but I don’t have the energy to find the brackets keys on this iPad.
By the way, this is what things really look like when bloggers take food photos. The “tabletop” isn’t real, and the background is chosen to not detract from the food. So I had to clean up my kitchen before taking the cake photos—or at least the part of it in back of the cake. The rest looks like someone with a lot of dogs made a lemon cake and forgot to clean up.
My daughter came in and tried to get Salem to pose, but he wasn’t interested. Then jealous Foxley took notice and the whole photo shoot went downhill from that. So we ate cake.
Glorious Lemon Drizzle Cake. Go get some.
I'm SO excited! I don't bake much and when I do, it's usually chocolate, but my mom used to make a fabulous, moist lemon drizzle cake just like this. Looks like I may actually bake and it won't be chocolate!
Sheeeeeee's Back! Your cake looks fabulous, your photography is exceptional and your blog is full out hysterical! Lot's of true LOL's here! Thanks for the inside peek at the life and family of food bloggers. Your pups and your daughter are delightful. Thanks for taking all the time and energy to do this. I hope it gets easier and Merry Christmas!
